eMAI New Materials

Nonionic Surfactant OP Series

The eMAI™ OP Series nonionic surfactants are formed by ring-opening polymerization of octylphenol with ethylene oxide (EO); adjusting the length of the polyoxyethylene ether segment imparts excellent performance. OP Series surfactants do not ionize in aqueous solution and offer outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, hard water, and electrolytes. Highly stable to heat and shear, they maintain their emulsifying and dispersing performance under harsh conditions.

Overview and Applications

The portfolio covers fatty-alcohol ethoxylates, isotridecyl and isodecyl alcohol ethoxylates, alkylphenol ethoxylates, sorbitan esters, and polyoxyethylene sorbitan derivatives. Grades can be selected by HLB and solubility for industrial cleaning, textiles, metalworking, coatings, agrochemicals, oilfield, and personal-care formulations.
