Oleamidopropyl Betaine
Oleamidopropyl betaine eMAI™ OAB is a zwitterionic compound produced by amidation of oleic acid with N,N-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine, followed by quaternization with sodium chloroacetate, and finally purified and refined by vacuum distillation. Product features: Readily soluble in water with good solubility; Stable performance with strong resistance to temperature, high-salinity water, and calcium/magnesium; Good compatibility with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants; High surface and interfacial activity; Provides a certain thickening effect with anionics or in high-salinity water; Excellent foaming and foam-stabilizing properties, reducing the irritation of anionic surfactants.
Overview and Applications
The range includes lauric-, oleic-, and erucic-amidopropyl betaines, C12–C18 alkyl dimethyl betaines, and fatty-amidopropyl hydroxysultaines for personal cleansing and conditioning, oil displacement and VES acidizing, textile antistatic treatment, and wetting, emulsifying, or thickening formulations.
