VCI28 Vanadium Corrosion Inhibitor
The vanadium corrosion inhibitor eMAI™ VCI28 is composed mainly of oil-based metal compounds and suspension dispersants. Its components react with vanadium in the fuel to form high-melting-point, chemically stable compounds, preventing the low-melting-point sodium vanadate salts produced during combustion of industrial fuel oil, heavy oil, and residual oil from causing high-temperature corrosion and molten-salt corrosion to gas turbine or boiler hot-section components—thereby extending equipment service life, reducing maintenance costs, and improving system operating stability and safety. The product maintains good stability at high temperatures (up to 550°C) and is suitable for various process water qualities and media conditions, especially in heavy oil processing, catalytic cracking, and coking units in the refining, chemical, and energy industries.
Overview and Applications
VCI28 combines oil-based metal compounds with suspension dispersants to capture fuel-borne vanadium and convert it into stable, high-melting compounds, reducing molten-salt corrosion from low-melting vanadates. Stable up to 550°C, it serves gas turbines, oil-fired boilers, and heavy-oil processing units.
